Visit Valencia in 2018!

When traveling to Spain, your first thoughts are of Barcelona and Madrid.  But with new chic hotels, a growing list of Michelin star restaurants, amazing attractions and increased flight options, make sure you add Valencia to your itinerary for 2018!
NEW Luxury Accommodations:  With the opening of Marques House, Valencia’s new boutique luxury hotel, the city adds 32 elegant suites and a roof-top pool, and the new home of Café Madrid and the historic Agua de Valencia cocktail (cava, orange juice, vodka, and gin created in 1959).
In addition to Marques House, work is underway for a new five-star beachfront property, and the five-star Hotel Palacio Valier.
Fine Dining:  Newcomer Sucede, located in the five-star Caro Hotel, received its first Michelin star.  The modern meets minimalist meets Moorish restaurant is managed by former elBulli chef Miguel Ángel Mayor.

Housed in a former hydraulic pumps factory,  Bomba Gens has been restored back to its 1930s condition. The modern art center is home of Ricard Camarena’s flagship Michelin starred restaurant, complete with a medieval bodega (cellar) and a new open-air sculpture exhibit.
Originally designed for America’s Cup in 2007, the Veles e Vents building has repurposed itself as Valencia’s gastro-cultural hub.  Featuring three restaurants and dedicated events space, it’s conveniently located at the city’s marina.
Amazing Attractions:  Take in 360-degree views of Valencia’s beautiful skyline from Ateneo’s Viewpoint, a new, 50-metre high “mirador.”  Located in the heart of the city, atop the historic Ateneo Mercantil building, it is open until 8:30pm so you can capture the evening’s most brilliant colors.

2018 marks 125th birthday of artist Joan Miró, a new exhibition at IVAM (Institut Valencià d’Art Modern d’Art)  highlights one of the greatest Spanish painters of the 20th century. With over 100 works by Miró, the show runs until June 17, 2018.
2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences
The City of Arts and Sciences is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a series of special events throughout the year.  Home to the city’s planetarium, largest aquarium and the avant-garde opera house, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía.
So, there you have it!  Put Valencia on your itinerary for 2018.  Spain’s third largest city is the place to discover in 2018!
