The Akelarre Hotel is a luxury boutique property tucked into the Monte Igueldo hillside, just a few minutes’ drive from the popular resort town of San Sebastian.

Pedro Subijana was a pioneer of new Basque cuisine and has been the chef at Akelare restaurant since 1974. Built alongside Pedro Subijana’s legendary restaurant, and sharing the same name, is the Akelarre Hotel.
Designed by the Mecanismo architectural firm, the Akelarre offers modern spaces, exquisite finishes, luxurious amenities and floor to ceiling windows with spectacular views of the Bay of Biscay. Highlights of the property include a collection of impressive outdoor terraces and a steel staircase that begins in the reception area and winds guests through a gallery of intriguing artwork.
Guest of the hotel will also enjoy complimentary a la cart breakfast, nightly turn down service, self-parking and transfers to the city center and beaches.
22 guest rooms offer spectacular views of the sea through the floor to ceiling glass walls. There are 14 standard doubles and two suites each with its own private stone-lined plunge pool. The bathrooms are large with marble sinks, organic toiletries, rain showers and separate bathtubs. Most are positioned to allow guests to enjoy the relaxing sea views while they soak away their cares.
Pedro Subijana is one of the pioneers of new Basque cuisine and was awarded his first Michelin star in 1978, his second in 1982 and a third star in 2007. People travel from around the world to dine at his restaurants.
The Akelarre offers two restaurants: Akelare’s and Oteiza’s. There is also a wine cellar and cocktail bar on property.
Akelare’s is a Michelin three-star fine dining experience. Diners at Akelare are offered a selection from three tasting menus, featuring local ingredients and traditional Basque cuisine. Floor to ceiling windows provide a breathtaking view of the Bay of Biscay.
The Oteiza restaurant offers breakfast, tapas and light snacks.

Pool and Spa
The Akelarre Hotel offers a spa, relaxation area, stone pool with hydrotherapy jets, a sauna and three treatment rooms. A 24-hour onsite fitness center is also available.
