For years, our industry has fought to gain respect as a key business function, driven by advanced technology, spend management and delivering outstanding attendee experiences. While that journey continues, there seems to be little doubt that enterprises around the world have embraced the need and value of meeting technology to drive their worldwide events.
Cvent CONNECT. This has emerged as the largest and most important technology conference in the industry, and having experienced it this week, there should be no doubt as to why. Held in Las Vegas at the Venetian and Sands Expo, over 4,000 meeting professionals from around the world participated in an excellent program of education, visioning, practical tips, networking and a trade show showcasing Cvent’s partners and suppliers. The energy was high, with lots of business transacted.
I was part of the miMeetings team that participated (an enterprise ground transportation solution for meetings & events), and it was very good for business also. Over 80 enterprise appointments with 140 key decision makers made the event both enjoyable and successful.
Being the largest meetings technology platform in the world has its responsibilities – including bringing together the industry’s thought leaders, largest meeting generators, and an innovative supplier base. Cvent executed very well, creating a memorable experience that will continue to drive more progress, more innovation, and more respect for our industry.
