How do you imagine Covid might have professionally and personally changed us as we negotiate a new post-virus “normal”? Can we find meaning, motivation, and renewed spirit for action in this contemplative but extraordinary time? We find ourselves wondering, doubting, planning our next steps, or perhaps second-guessing our last ones. We are trying to keep all the parts of our lives still stuck together and not falling apart.
McKinsey recently surveyed over 800 US-based employees on a wide variety of topics related to employee experience and daily life. The fundamental truth about employee experience, even when faced with similar experiences, is that more than 80% of respondents say the crisis affected their daily work lives with varied perspectives and outcomes. The return phase of meetings presents an opportunity for planners to rethink the attendee experience in ways that respect individual differences while also adapting to rapidly changing circumstances.
In addition to basic needs (safety and security), trusting relationships, social cohesion, and individual purpose disproportionately impact people and well-being. A new mode of communication and teaching has a lot of potentials. Meeting in person has real intangible and alchemical value. IMEX America, taking place at the Mandalay Bay, October 11-13, 2022, is moving into a new phase with sights firmly set on the business needs of 2023, ’24, and beyond.
Based on feedback received, current learning trends, and industry intelligence, the IMEX team has restructured the education tracks available and devised a theme for IMEX America education program: “Pathways to Clarity.” The theme recognizes the confusion and complexity that has crept into daily work and personal life since the pandemic. It aims to provide tools, insights, and lessons to help everyone move forward with confidence, simplicity, and clear thinking.
The team has simplified the number of education tracks to make planning and attending easier. The four new topics are:
– Respect for People and the Planet
– Future Self
– Innovation and Creativity
– Event Planner Toolkit
Attendee registration remains free for all buyer and supplier types, and it is time to secure your spot to catalyze business and reset for the future.
