Got Pink? Incorporate Breast Cancer Awareness into Your Next Team Building Activity

In an industry that is heavily populated by females, chances are you or a colleague has been affected by breast cancer.  In fact, one in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer during her lifetime. During the month of October, various fundraisers, initiatives and activities are planned in support of  Breast Cancer Awareness Month. What better time to plan your next team building activity in support of this worthy cause?

Get your pink on with these team building activities!

Talent Show

Calling all America’s Got Talent devotees! Plan a talent show to showcase your group’s hidden abilities. Attendees can really let loose performing in front of peers. The group votes for their favorite acts by donating cash. The act that raised the most money wins and all funds collected can be donated to a breast cancer charity of their choice.

Fashion Show

Pile on the pink accessories – boas, hats, sunglasses and tutus! Stage a runway and let your attendees strut their stuff. Be sure to supply plenty of pink outfit accessories and encourage your group to have fun! A fashion show emcee can share breast cancer facts and resources throughout the event.

Gift Bags

Create gift bags designed to heal, rejuvenate and inspire breast cancer patients. Gather an array of luxurious soaps, bubble bath, slippers, books, magazines, candles and crossword puzzles creating a comforting package for warriors undergoing treatment.

Cupcake Decorating

Supply dozens of deliciously baked cupcakes ready to be decked out in pink icing, sprinkles and candy ribbons galore! Provide plenty of decorating tools including pastry tubes, stencils, edible glitter, toppers and candy flowers. Line up a judging panel and the winner can donate to the breast cancer charity of her choice.

Walk/Run

Build team spirit by sponsoring a 5K walk/run event and provide pink athletic wear with the company logo for participants. Visit the Susan G. Komen site for events scheduled in your area.

Golf Outing

Host a golf outing for your group. Get creative with cart and hole sponsorship themed around breast cancer awareness and encourage players to wear pink. Donate all proceeds to a breast cancer awareness fund.

There are endless ways to build camaraderie within your group while also educating participants and spreading hope for those affected by breast cancer. Think Pink with a breast cancer awareness themed team building activity to help save lives.
