SPAIN RANKS 3RD WORLDWIDE
FOR INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS
For 2018, Spain climbed one place in world rankings
with 595 international congresses organized

In a 2018 report released May 13, 2019 from the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Spain captured the third spot in the worldwide rankings, just behind the United States and Germany, welcoming  297,606 attendees to these events.

Spain is a global leader in meeting, incentive, and event (MICE) tourism, and a sure bet to guarantee the best outcome. How does Spain consistently rank above its competition? Immense variety and quantity of resources, extensive and deep professional support, top-quality venues and accommodations, and an extraordinary infrastructure.

Barcelona and Madrid in Top 5 Cities Worldwide
Madrid, with 165 conferences, rose to 3rdplace in 2018, just behind Paris and Vienna, and a notable jump from its seventh-place position the prior year, while Barcelona ranked 4th place in 2018, with 163 international events (see top city rankings). After these two cities, Valencia,Seville and Bilbao are consolidated in intermediate positions. There are 17 other Spanish cities which ranked in 2018 in the top 500 worldwide destinations for international meetings.
