Tempting Travellers to Turtle Island is a vital part of our practice. The many Indigenous Travel groups are always the first place to partner on any tour or event. Every event gives thanks to the land on which they are gathering. First Nations’ governments and their land management offices define their traditional territories based on the oral history and knowledge of their elders and community members. The community itself is the best source of information regarding its territory. Settlers’ renaming of Turtle Island to North America is reflective of the anglicization of Indigenous place names and stories. In recent times, Indigenous activists have made efforts to reclaim traditional names.Â
